New Friday The 13 Movie
61New Friday The 13 Movie
Slasher films are time and time again a guilt-ridden pleasure for numerous film enthusiasts. Sure, they won’t obtain censors’ numbers. They won’t get A+ ratings from the movie media. They won’t as well get C ratings from home-grown internet pundits. Slasher films will always be shriek-filled tales with empty plots.
But through the years, these slasher flicks have carved – excuse the clever remark – a niche of their own.
A huge part of the triumph of these slasher films can be credited to the Friday the 13th series and its 15 incarnations. Friday the 13th is a chain of movies that starred a hockey veil-wearing psycho killer called Jason Voorhees. So popular is this series that it has become a staple of pop culture, being mentioned in numerous news channels for a good part of the recently concluded century.
In 2009, a reboot of the series will be presented for the movie going public to experience. One more time, fans of slasher films and people who are new to the variety will have face the father of slasher-premised flicks, this time recreated for the latest generation.
Right, Jason Voorhees is about to make a comeback!
This time, he won’t be fighting another movie fiend icon. He won’t be in outer space, liberated from years of cryogenic trance. He won’t be warding off the challenge of a woman telepath.
In its place, we will behold, or re-behold, the nativity of a serial predator. We will learn about the tale that produced a horror like Jason Voorhees. We will see him threaten the unfortunate travelers experiencing the hot waters of Camp Crystal Lake.
It’s 2009 and it’s time for a new Friday the 13th!
The remake is directed by Marcus Nispel, who also did the remake of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The film will present Derek Mears as Jason Voorhees, with Jared Padalecki and Amanda Righetti playing the male and woman mains, correspondingly.
The film will be shown on a Friday the 13th, specifically February 13, 2009.

I saw this movie and it was alright. Some of the killing scenes were unique but most were cliche. I would give it a 6 on a scale from 1-10.
